Manga queen Moyoco Anno is back… Kinda. Well the mangaka and critic is technically still on hiatus from her duties with Hataraki-man, but her series of newspaper strips for the Asahi Shinbun just saw it’s debut in tankobon format… Oops I meant it will debut in about a week.
I mentioned this on my twitter feed last week but Ochibi-san has a unique feature that I am sure will make it a hot commodity back home - It is in Japanese and in English! The 128 page collection of one page gag comics are presented in full-color when in Japanese and are then translated into English on the opposite page by renowned American commentator/reporter based in Japan Richard Berger.
If you have access to a Kinokuniya or just want to order one online (7andy, BK1, Amazon.jp or Kinokuniya) the book will go for 600yen (around $5.50 before shipping)
Check out the cover and a scan of strip 1 (right click on that to see a larger version)…
