I realized my blogging desk has been seriously collecting dust lately. The audio set is nowhere to be seen and next to the stack of review manga is an equally tall stack of large yellow envelopes which I assume contains more manga to review (including at least two copies of the Manga Bible…shudder). It has also been way too long since I have done one of these. Not to say that new manga hasn’t been announced. Heck, I leaked the Kujibiki Unbalance license at PW last week (go check out my interview with Genshiken’s Kio Shimoku if you haven’t yet. whoohoo!!). But I have kinda been out of it lately. Jet-lag, dealing with my local passport agency, and a sinus infection that has me really questioning air travel altogether…
Any whos, BroBooks recently used their connections with .Anime to announce their acquisition of Abeno Chako’s sola. What they didn’t let the general public know was that they have another title to release later this year.

sola SOLA MediaWorks/Dengeki Comics |
ほのかLv.アップ! Honoka Level Up! MediaWorks/Dengeki Comics |
So what’s Honoka about? Here is what BroBooks says about it:
Honoka, a lonely young student, loves to doodle and draw. But her casual love of art is transformed when her uncle hires her to work as a character developer at his new video gaming company. Honoka has no idea how to negotiate the complex corporate world, and as she begins to learn the basics of the video game industry, she finds herself getting caught up in the confusing politics, crushing responsibilities, and difficult developmental aspects of her newfound calling. Overwhelmed by the challenges, Honoka realizes that she’ll have to give it her all if she wants to succeed.
Also readers should note that early indications have these two books at a new $10.99 price point. Not sure why that is since NUI! and Koi Cupid are still $9.99 and none of the mentioned titles are 18+ (or even 16+ according to PR).
