Last year when Seven Seas announced the Kage kara Mamoru light novel, I wondered out loud… “So when will we hear about the manga license?” Given how Media Factory has the licenses for both one would have thought the manga would be coming relatively quickly and most likely from Seven Seas.

Well, rumors are pointing towards a potential series launch this June by another California publisher - DrMaster. Hmm, now this is going to be interesting because DrM has improved their production quality over the last year (translations have improved a bit; prints are much improved; covers and extras are through the roof). Interesting timing too because the AX release date will give the manga a jump on the novel release (currently scheduled for Oct 08). Nice fast turn around that should help both releases in the coming years.
