Founded on July 21, 2005 the MangaCast is a information based network established as a journal covering manga as a whole. Here people can read or listen to opinions about manga from every where and from every genre for every demographic. You can listen to reviews, commentary, news and information about the medium all coming from the perspectives of a few dedicated manga lovers. It is a living discussion about manga and we invite our readers to participate in the conversation by either replying to our posts or providing content for us to share.
We believe manga is an art form. It is a form of expression combining a variety of artistic qualities. Manga is not an art style. If anything it is a visual form of story-telling. The designs are not relevant but the story, the characters and the development of those two factors are what define manga. Manga comes in every flavor imaginable. Romance, comedy, sports, sci-fi, drama, political, religious, biographical, experimental… Manga is written for demographics but it is not always as restrictive as other comics can be.
Essentially the MangaCast is like manga itself. It is a place to get a taste of manga of all sorts of flavors. We might not focus on the popular genres much but manga’s appeal comes from its variety. So if you haven’t tried manga yet, check out the journal and listen to the .mp3s we are sure you will eventually find something you like.
If you are interested in providing reviews for the MangaCast please email us at mangacast@gmail.com.
